About Bean Drop

Hi, I'm Dave, founder of Bean Drop.

I grew up in the Netherlands, where coffee was simply part of everyday life. At home, there was always a pot brewing, whether it was 7am or 7pm. Sharing coffee was a ritual, a way to connect, slow down, and enjoy good company. It's a tradition I've carried with me throughout my life.

After meeting my Australian wife while living in the UK, I moved to Australia in 2011. Not long after arriving, I fell even deeper in love with coffee through Australia's incredible specialty coffee culture.

Coffee has been at the centre of much of my professional life. I've owned and operated my own café for six years, worked as a coffee roaster for several years, and spent countless hours learning about sourcing, roasting, brewing, and tasting exceptional coffee. Wherever I travel, I'm always searching for the best local cafés and unique coffee experiences.

What excites me most about coffee is the incredible range of flavours, stories, and craftsmanship behind every cup. I love discovering new roasters, trying different origins, and finding coffees that surprise me.

That's exactly why I started Bean Drop.

I wanted to create a place where coffee lovers could discover Australia's best specialty coffee without spending hours searching for it themselves. My mission is simple: to bring outstanding Australian coffee roasters, premium coffee beans, and exciting new coffee experiences into kitchens and homes across the country.

Because I know I can't be the only person who's always chasing that next great cup of coffee.
